The meter should display the total fare before any additional fees are applied, or there should be a TCD/Cash mode to allow testing based on the standard fare rate.
This is necessary because TCD does not permit fees or charges to be added during meter testing. If additional fees are included, the meter may not meet TCD compliance requirements.
The TCD PSVL Board will require the meter to be tested for accuracy and drop rate compliance before approval.
Rate 1: Starting Balance of $5.95 and the fare should increase by $0.65 for every 1/5 mile.
Rate 3: Starting Balance of $7.44 the fare should increase by $0.65 + 25% per 1/5 mile.
Rate 4: Starting Balance of $8.93 the fare should increase by $0.65 + 25% per 1/5 mile.
